Support A Return to Excellence in American K-12 Education
Hillsdale College’s Barney Charter School Initiative has already assisted in the launching of 24 classical K-12 charter schools in 11 states, with additional schools opening each year. More than 14,500 students are enrolled in these schools, with combined waiting lists of over 8,000. Charter schools affiliated with the Barney Initiative feature a classical curriculum that includes a strong American civics component. They also place an emphasis on the liberal arts and cultivating moral and intellectual virtue. In short, this initiative is an important part of returning excellence to K-12 education.
In keeping with its principles, Hillsdale College operates the Barney Charter School Initiative without accepting one penny of taxpayer funding. Hillsdale's assistance to classical charter schools—from start-up to opening to ongoing academic support—is offered as a free-of-charge service to assist those who share our dedication to educational excellence. Will you lend your support to this worthy endeavor?
And there's more good news...two anonymous friends of Hillsdale College have committed to match any contributions for the Barney Charter School Initiative endowment dollar-for-dollar, up to $1.5 million total. You can make a gift—and thereby double its impact with this generous challenge—by donating now.
With your partnership, we will continue to support and encourage those who are working hard to instill in young Americans the knowledge and character necessary to sustain our nation’s heritage of liberty.
Thank you in advance for making the decision to invest in K-12 education, and thereby America’s future.
