Sadly, reports show that increasing numbers of schools are indoctrinating students with a false and dishonest narrative of our nation’s history, presenting America as essentially and irredeemably flawed.  

We can see the influence of this kind of dangerous indoctrination in the news stories of historical statues—like those on our Liberty Walk—being vandalized and removed from public spaces.

Because the only sure defense of liberty is an educated citizenry, it is up to us to foster an informed patriotism among young Americans, ensuring the preservation of freedom for future generations.

The key parts of our efforts to reach and teach millions—fueled by your generosity—include:

• Providing the very best liberal arts education in the land to our undergraduate and graduate students through our core curriculum so they can become self-governing citizens and leaders in all walks of American life. 

• Informing the ongoing debates about the critical issues of our time by sending Imprimis, Hillsdale’s digest of liberty, to increasing numbers of homes and businesses—free of charge. We already reach millions—we must reach hundreds of thousands more.

• Teaching increasing millions of citizens about the Constitution and American history through free online courses, with a special emphasis on reaching and teaching younger Americans. Our free online courses offer the kind of education that too many young people today do not receive in school.

• Expanding efforts to revive excellence in American K-12 education—including proper civics instruction for young Americans. Thousands of students at schools supported by Hillsdale receive a classical education that emphasizes moral character and includes a strong foundation in American civics.
