Support the Matt Suggs Travel Award today and help Hillsdale student athletes reach the highest levels of competition.
Through the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center, Hillsdale College trains youth and collegiate athletes to compete at the highest levels and fosters intelligent patriotism by providing instruction in the U.S. Constitution. The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team continues to be a front-runner in the conference and has won multiple national competitions.
The Halter Center supports American shooting sports success on the world stage in partnership with USA Shooting. Hillsdale College became the home of the USA National Team in 2019. It hosts the Junior Nationals in rifle, both Junior and Senior Nationals in International Skeet and Trap, International Paralympic Grand Prix events, Olympic training camps, Junior World training camps, and Junior Olympic Development Camps.
Matt Suggs, former CEO of USA Shooting, was instrumental in this partnership. A champion shooter himself, he greatly advanced USA Shooting and was a great benefit to the continued development of the shooting sports at Hillsdale.
Matt passed away in December 2022. In his memory, Hillsdale College is establishing the Matt Suggs USA Shooting Travel Award endowment fund. This fund will support unsponsored travel for student athletes who make the USA Shooting Team to compete in Olympic qualifying events such as World Cups, World Championships, and team trials. It will ensure that skilled student athletes are not left out of these events due to lack of funds.
You can make a tax-deductible donation below to honor Matt’s memory and advance the shooting sports at Hillsdale. Your support helps expose a new generation to the shooting sports and educate them in the rights provided by the Second Amendment.
